Project Life 2015 Week 1

I wanted to post my project life pages on the blog weekly but was a little behind getting some pictures printed to finish some layouts so although it is almost March, I am ready to show you some layouts.

My layouts are pretty basic compared to many seen on the internet. There are a few reasons for that. First, I think it is more important that I try to stay as current as possible so that I do not fall too far behind and get discouraged. Also, I am helping beginners get started on project life and I like them to be able to see how easy it is and that it does not need to be time consuming. It literally takes me longer to upload my pictures to walgreens than it does to put my pages together.

My title page for 2015.
The plan was for a family picture to go in the bottom left spot but since we have yet to get everyone together to get one, it will probably more than likely remain how it is.

Week 1

My title page and week 1 layout uses mostly cards from BH Favorite things.  One of the things that I am really trying to get past this year is worrying about my handwriting. I hate my handwriting but if I have to computer journal or even type everything it will never get done. I did use the typewriter on the weekly little tags and plan to use it more.

Simply Sketched

Another card sample from my Catalog Launch last week. I loved this card when I saw it and I am not really a flower/bird card type person. I avoided buying any floral stamp sets for ages and really only picked this set because I liked the font on the sentiments. But this card and the following one really made me want to use this set! And I am not one for watercoloring either but I had so much fun making these!

This one uses pistachio pudding cardstock as well as whisper white and the flowers are colored using pistachio, and strawberry slush ink pads and a blender pen.

The other card that made me ink this set up quickly is this card  and I have pretty much cased them completely! No point in changing something that's perfect as is.

I used blushing bride and chocolate chip cardstock and the retired early edition paper.

Five Minute Friday

Everytime I mention making cards to new people they all seem to say the same thing. " I don't have time to do that". So one of my goals is to show people they don't need much "time" to make a cute card. Yes, sometimes I can spend half the day in my stamp room but most of the time, I get very little time to actually stamp.  This cute card was case'd from here.  I have yet to make the blue version but will next chance I get so I can have some on hand!

The colors in this picture seem way off. Strawberry slush is the base for this card and the ink on the label. This stamp set has the matching punch and labels for several occasions.

Anyway..... this card literally took less than 5 minutes. I cut the strawberry slush base, cut the white layer, ran it through the mosaic embossing folder, tied my ribbon around the card, stamped the label and  punched it, then punched two more in strawberry and layered my label. That's it! You could not even put your shoes on and get to the car (so you could buy a card) in the time it took to make this card. I will try very hard to post a new Five Minute Friday card each week.

Time is Running out!

The Late Night Stampers Treasure Hunt is getting close to an end.  Have you found all your clues or do you have a few more to find? Did you find some new projects you just have to do now like I did while visiting all those great blogs?  Or are you just getting here and have no clue what I am talking about, lol?

Well just encase you don't know, the Late Night Stampers group has a blog hop of sorts going, where you go from one blog to another and collect a clue from each blog and write down the clue and what blog you found it on. Then you email your list to someone who is participating and you are entered to win $150 in your choice of Stampin' Up! products!!

Here is the link to the original post  that has all the blogs and my clue.

April My Paper Pumpkin!

The new My Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in my mailbox today! I love getting boxes in the mail but I usually know what is coming because it is something I have ordered and that is exciting enough, but to get a box and have no idea what is in it, takes me back to being a kid and ripping open Christmas presents. So if you have yet to get your April kit in the mail and don't want the surprise spoiled, stop reading now. If you want to see what this months kit looks like, scroll down.

Here is the box. It was still not the pretty orange box that will soon be coming
but it was packaged very nice. Everything was wrapped in tissue with
a pretty paper pumpkin sticker sealing it shut.

I had to laugh when I opened this because the largest stamp in it (this one contains 3 stamps)
says "seriously" and that happens to be quite a popular phrase in our house. The papers in this kit
were very cute and I love the stamps in it. It also included buttons, twine, and envelopes. I have not put the cards together yet but will post them as soon as I do.

If you don't want to miss out on May's My paper pumpkin kit, sign up today to have your
own surprise delivered directly to your door. Make sure to put me as your demonstrator and I will send you an extra gift!

Project Life update.

Project Life

If you have been to my blog around the beginning of the year, you know I had intentions to do a Project Life album.  I don't know about you but I always have good intentions to do something (especially around the beginning of a new year) that don't always work out.  I took some pictures here and there but not regularly (with the exception of Disney and I have too many from that, lol) Anyway, here it is the beginning of April and I have not done ANYTHING with project life except upload some pictures from my phone to my computer. Notice I didn't say to be printed but at least they made it to my computer right?  Well that is about to change. With the introduction of Stampin' Up!'s This and That line, it made my renew my goal of completing a project life album this year.  At the moment I am not using all SU products, that may change when I see what all they have in the new IBC, but for now I am using a mixture of SU and a project life core kit. The kit I bought came with an album and it's cute but I prefer the crumb cake linen album I bought from SU for it so I am keeping it for this years album.  I am using the project life protectors as well as the SU divided page protectors because they give me some different layout options so I won't get bored with the same layout over and over.  And the new Rotary Stamp from Stampin' Up! will work wonderfully with this project!!!  The kit arrived in the mail yesterday and after the boys track meet I opened it and got busy uploading my photos to Walmart but that has been it so far.  The photos will get picked up this evening and I hope to show you all a cute layout or two by tomorrow evening!

My paper pumpkin has arrived!

So it arrived in my mailbox on Monday. It did not come in the pretty red box but a cute little kraft box that I am sure to re-use for something. They will start coming in the red boxes soon, they had more orders than they had planned.

So I went ahead and put the cards in the kit together. I wanted to use ONLY what was included in the kit except adhesive to do the cards first. This is what I came up with, I wanted to vary them some. I think I will take them later and add to them some to show what you can do with just a few extra items.

These first 3 I done and had completed in under 10 minutes. Then I decided to give the rest of the product to my sons girlfriend who is 15 and has never stamped before and when she looked at it she saw a tree. So this is what she came up with.

If you would like to get a wonderful box of crafting goodies in the mail each month, go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com  and sign up! Make sure to add me Tanya Stottlemire as your demo.

Friendship

This was one of our cards we made at my Sale-a-bration Celebration on Tuesday evening!
Very cute and quick card that went together very easily. Uses the great From My heart Stamp set, and some cute framelits and new papers from the Print Poetry designer papers stack in the Spring catalog. This card design came from a lady on a group I belong to called Sudsol. If you are a Stampin' Up! demo, I highly suggest you join this group! They are phenomenal at answering questions quickly and helping with business ideas.
If you would like to attend a class check out my calendar on the right side of my blog for upcoming classes. An April schedule will be posted very soon. Also, I am going to be adding a Card Buffet to my line up.

Easter cross card

This is one of the cards we made at Friday nights Spring Card class.
I case'd this card from a couple different cards actually.  I got the idea for the cross using the gorgeous flower trim in the spring catalog from here. It looks as though she overlapped her flowers in the middle but I cut two strips of three flowers to make a "t" then added another flower to the top so my cross was a tad flatter. Not that these flowers are flat at all! The card design itself came from another Late Night Stampers blog Lisa Kmiec. Hers has beautiful butterflies on it and I can guarantee an almost exact case will be coming as well. I love that card.

If you wish to purchase any products used on any of my cards you can order online 24/7

Altered New testament

I have been really busy this week and have not been great at updating my blog. Not only have I had two classes that I had to prepare for (cards from those will be on here this week!) I have been trying to get ready for a vendor fair/quarter auction this coming weekend.  I have really only done holiday craft shows before so they were mostly Christmas themed items and didn't really know what to make for a spring one. The first thing I had made was the altered jr legal pads , and then I made some of these covered new testament Bibles. I thought they would make cute Easter basket gifts. I used some new and some retired DSP on these, along with saying from the Trust God stamp set.

Almost Easter!

Sorry about the glare on the photo. I have them in cello bags to keep little fingerprints off and it makes it harder to photograph.

This adorable little bunny was case'd from Catherine Pooler and she shows exactly how to make it on her blog with a video.  The bunny butt is actually a christmas ornament framelit! Love it when you find new ways to use products you already have. And doesn't that flower trim make the cutest little bunny tail!!

Can you tell me what this is??

I thought this card was pretty obvious but when asking some family members only one got it right without me telling. So can you tell me what this is supposed to be???

I got the card idea from here, thought this video was pretty funny, lol

More Butterflies!

I told you there would be more butterflies!  Loved the butterfly card and had to do it in more colors. I think it makes a great all occasion card. Cute for birthday, get well, anything really. Since the punch only uses a small bit of paper to make a card I will be making tons of these to have on hand. You would be seeing dozens right now had I not ran out of linen thread and pearls!

Altered Jr. legal pads

So months and months ago I purchased a large pack of jr legal pads at Sams club and had them taken to Staples and cut down some so that I could put them in Stampin' Up! dvd cases to make journals. I had plenty left over and saw this tutorial so thought I would cut it down to 7 inches instead of her 8 to fit my cut down pads.  Not sure what I want to put on the orange one yet and it does not use SU papers but some I had left in my stash pre demo days. The pink one does use SU paper and that great polka dot paper is from the paper pad in the spring mini catalog. I am loving the papers in that stack. Had to throw in another butterfly too, lol.  Does anyone know a cheaper place to buy the RSVP pens?  Staples if you buy them in a bulk pack still averages to .62 per pen and Dollar tree has a 2 pack for $1 so that's .50 each and the cheapest I have found but wondered if someone knew of a better deal than that.

I also made a few of these with pictures of One Direction on the front for some teenage girls I know and they loved them. Maybe I should make some for the upcoming quarter auction.

Giveaway Drawing Results

Now the reason you are even looking at this blog today! You want to know who won the Sale a bration products!  There were not many entries for the drawing so everyone had a good chance. If you placed an order this month (online, paper pumpkin, workshop order or other), attended any class or event, made a comment on the blog post, liked my facebook page,  or emailed to tell me you tried and couldn't, then I put a ticket with your name on it into a can and then I let my little helper draw a ticket out this morning.

THE WINNING TICKET WAS:

Julia C

I had a cute video of my little one drawing the ticket but I can not get it to upload.

To those that did not win this one, make sure you check out the Treasure Hunt for your chance to win $150 in Stampin' Up! Products.
