Desk Note pad / Card holder

This cute little notepad/card holder is one of the projects from the upcoming class this week. I made some of these when school started for my daughters teachers. You can see those ones here.

These can hold cut up printer paper to use on your desk as scratch paper, or they hold a nice set of cards and make a great gift.

I will be posting a tutorial on my blog when I get it finished. Yes, I said that last time, but I remembered to take pictures in progress of this one so it should be up within a week.

The cute little "notes" stamp is from one of the previous My Paper Pumpkin kits. Every month MPP has exclusive stamps in it that are not available anywhere else. There is a really great deal on the MPP subscription right now. Get a set of SU In Color Markers FREE when you sign up as a new My Paper Pumpkin Subscriber. The kits are also getting bigger starting in February so the value is even better!

Great New Deal for those wanting to try Paper Pumpkin!

My Paper Pumpkin is a great little crafty getaway and for a limited time they are making the deal even sweeter.

Each month you receive in the mail a gorgeous little orange box filled with everything you need to make that months project. Projects vary from cards, to brag books, and gift type items so far. It is a great little surprise each month and perfect for those that have little time to work on a project and do not want to purchase tons of supplies. It also makes a nice gift for kids, and retirees. If you do not want it for yourself, I am sure you can think of someone, a grandchild, niece, or someone in a retirement/nursing home that would LOVE to get this surprise mailed directly to them each month!

And now through Feb 10th you can get a free set of In Color Markers FREE when you sign up for a new membership!

Click on the link or photo above to be taken to the My Paper Pumpkin website for more information. If you need any help getting signed up please let me know!

5 minutes to Fabulous Cards!

Tomorrow is my 5 minutes to fabulous card class. I want people to realize that they do not need a lot of time in order to make a beautiful handmade card that they can give. The 4 cards for tomorrows class can all be made in under 5 minutes. (well one did take me 6 1/2 but I re-tied the ribbon 3 times)

Two of tomorrow's cards will use the new Wildflower Meadow background stamp. It is super simple to get a quick gorgeous card from just inking this background stamp and using it as it is. I used crisp cantaloupe ink, and just added a little ribbon and some dazzling details to the card for some sparkle.

Using the exact same stamp you can do so many different things.  For this card all I did was ink the one flower using raspberry ripple and gumball green markers.  I stamped the sentiment that came with the first months My paper pumpkin kit and I was done! You can still get this sentiment if you join MPP now because it comes in every welcome kit! Loved this card, so just had to include it in my 5 minutes to Fab class.

The next two cards use the Flower Shop stamp set and punch. This set has 6 different flower images and they are really cute. You can order the bundle with the stamp set and punch and get 15% off!

I stamped the flower onto whisper white using black staz-on ink randomly over the bottom two thirds of my paper, then stamped the sentiment from the Trust God stamp set on the top, tied my daffodil delight ribbon around it, layered it on basic black then on my card front, added punched daffodil delight blossoms and rhinestones and was done!

The above card was cased from StampLadyKatie, I tend to case a lot of cards just because I only get to stamp about 4 days a month so I browse many card designs online and use the little time I get making cards instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. There are many talented people out there that are gracious enough to post and share their beautiful artwork and I thank them very much!

The following card is so simple I think it took less than 2 minutes total. But it is still very stunning in it's simplicity. A 1 inch wide strip of gingham garden paper, a stamped and punch island indigo flower, a small flower punch, pearl, my sentiment and it was done. The card I cased from here used the new gingham wheel which would make it easy to do in any color but I did not have that and loved this paper so it worked out well.

July My Paper Pumpkin Kit

The My paper pumpkin kit for July arrived Tuesday! It is fun to get something in the mail each month and not know what it is! For the most part I never get anything that I do not already know is coming. Even for Christmas and my birthday do I rarely get a surprise so these are really nice. It's like a Christmas present every month!

They arrive in pretty orange boxes and this beautiful pool party tissue paper.

This months kit is a banner kit! It is adorable!

You get your picture with directions on how to assemble the kit,

and all the contents! This one has 2 ink spots! Summer starfruit and pool party, tiny little clothespins, skewers, die cut banners, foam dimensionals, and 3 stamps! This has been the best kit yet I think!

I really like these stamps. It is nice to have stamps to give a background to different things.

Now to just figure out what I am going to do with this set. If I had not already had my catalog kick off party I would have used it on my table setting. No birthday's coming up in the family for the near future so I will just have to find something else to use it for.

April My Paper Pumpkin!

The new My Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in my mailbox today! I love getting boxes in the mail but I usually know what is coming because it is something I have ordered and that is exciting enough, but to get a box and have no idea what is in it, takes me back to being a kid and ripping open Christmas presents. So if you have yet to get your April kit in the mail and don't want the surprise spoiled, stop reading now. If you want to see what this months kit looks like, scroll down.

Here is the box. It was still not the pretty orange box that will soon be coming
but it was packaged very nice. Everything was wrapped in tissue with
a pretty paper pumpkin sticker sealing it shut.

I had to laugh when I opened this because the largest stamp in it (this one contains 3 stamps)
says "seriously" and that happens to be quite a popular phrase in our house. The papers in this kit
were very cute and I love the stamps in it. It also included buttons, twine, and envelopes. I have not put the cards together yet but will post them as soon as I do.

If you don't want to miss out on May's My paper pumpkin kit, sign up today to have your
own surprise delivered directly to your door. Make sure to put me as your demonstrator and I will send you an extra gift!

My paper pumpkin has arrived!

So it arrived in my mailbox on Monday. It did not come in the pretty red box but a cute little kraft box that I am sure to re-use for something. They will start coming in the red boxes soon, they had more orders than they had planned.

So I went ahead and put the cards in the kit together. I wanted to use ONLY what was included in the kit except adhesive to do the cards first. This is what I came up with, I wanted to vary them some. I think I will take them later and add to them some to show what you can do with just a few extra items.

These first 3 I done and had completed in under 10 minutes. Then I decided to give the rest of the product to my sons girlfriend who is 15 and has never stamped before and when she looked at it she saw a tree. So this is what she came up with.

If you would like to get a wonderful box of crafting goodies in the mail each month, go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com  and sign up! Make sure to add me Tanya Stottlemire as your demo.
