Fingernail File holders

What an absolutely beautiful day here today! The last few have been getting warmer and warmer and after what seemed like never ending snow I am so glad to be able to drive and even put the windows down some!!!  With spring right around the corner, I am looking forward to getting time to create even more.

I was wanting some little items to handout and I was directed to Connie Stewarts blog where the directions for these adorable little finger nail file holders were.  They use very little paper and I found 24 packs of nail files at Walmart. The front of them are the regular ugly brown color but the back is an off white which worked well for what I wanted.

The cardstock colors used were limeade, island indigo, and melon mambo. The dsp papers are not SU but some that I had that I thought matched the cardstock nicely and said "spring" to me.

You can see a video on Connies blog for these nail file holders. They go together very quickly.

More Sale~a~bration items? !

You probably have heard about SU discontinuing the blendability markers that were part of the sale a bration products you could get with your qualifying order. Well because of this, SU has added EVEN more sale~a~bration offerings. (some new ones were added the beginning of the month also)

What does this mean for you?  Well even if  you thought you had earned all the free products you wanted, there may be even more to get!! Who doesn't like FREE stuff? I know I do!

Here are the items that have been added to the SAB choices.

You can click on the photo to view the full size PDF.

Don't you just love all those embossing folder choices? What an easy way to add so much to a card or project.

Speaking of embossing folders, there are some on sale this week as part of SU's weekly deals!

While you are browsing be sure to check out the clearance rack for other items at deep discounts.

Birthdays, birthdays, and more birthdays!

March is a busy month for birthdays! I have sent several cards to customers this month and have quite a few more coming up. My daughter has also been invited to some birthday parties which means I had some kids cards to make.  Leave it to Pinterest to find exactly what I needed!

Her first party was for a little boy in her class so I thought Ninja Turtles would be perfect! This card is pretty much cased completely from Pinterest.  However the link did not go back to a blog, just a bigger picture so I kind of had to guess what punches and things were used.

Her second party this past weekend was for a little girl and although I had some little girl cards in my stash I had some scraps on my desk from some nail file holders I was making and put together this card kind of quickly. Actually I made 3 of them since they were quick so that I would have some extras for later.  A very cute stacked present card with some pretty ribbon to bring it altogether.  Little blurry photo, I snapped it right before leaving to drop her off. Maybe  I need to upgrade my phone? I have an iphone 4s and really like it and the size of it and am not particularly fond of the larger size so I have yet to upgrade. BUT my husband did get one and I must say his pictures are SO MUCH NICER than mine. 90% of all the pictures I take are with my phone and it would make sense to get a phone with a nicer camera but I am so scared I would break the thing.  Anyone with an iphone 6 that happens to be as clumsy as me?

Curly Paper Wreath

So these beautiful wreaths have been around awhile, but I just never got around to making one. Well since they don't involve many supplies and I can do it sitting here recovering, I thought I may as well give it a go.

I had actually bought a wreath to do this over the summer with some pretty floral paper. However before I could get it done, the wreath was taken by the kids and destroyed.  They were about $5 at Walmart when I bought that one, but the one I used for my wreath was a tad bit smaller but came from Dollar Tree!  I think they only have these this time of year because I have looked for them before without success.

The paper I used was candelight Christmas which is retired but it was the only Christmas paper the kids could happen to find in my scrapbook room so that's what I went with.  It will be nice when I can finally get back downstairs and play again.

There are directions and videos all over the internet for these so I won't go into great detail but basically start with a styrofoam wreath base. (The hard rounded kind, not the ones that crumble easy.) Get a pack of dsp, whatever colors you like, then cut into strips. I cut mine at 3/4 inch, I have seen some do them in 1/2 or even 1.  I thought 1 inch looked too wide but 3/4 seems to be nice. Then while watching tv, curl the strips. Mine did not curl easy with a bone folder, but they did curl around a pen nicely. I curled each end towards the middle, alternating strips so some had one design showing and the rest of the pile had the other side of the paper out. Then insert straight pins in the middle of each strip and push into the wreath.

The online extravaganza is still happening! Have you shopped yet? Some of the deals have sold out fast! I think the blendabilities only last an hour or so!

Almost Easter!

Sorry about the glare on the photo. I have them in cello bags to keep little fingerprints off and it makes it harder to photograph.

This adorable little bunny was case'd from Catherine Pooler and she shows exactly how to make it on her blog with a video.  The bunny butt is actually a christmas ornament framelit! Love it when you find new ways to use products you already have. And doesn't that flower trim make the cutest little bunny tail!!

Can you tell me what this is??

I thought this card was pretty obvious but when asking some family members only one got it right without me telling. So can you tell me what this is supposed to be???

I got the card idea from here, thought this video was pretty funny, lol
